COMPASSIONATE HANDS AND HEARTS BREAST CANCER OUTREACH began in 2007 with a simple mission. We wanted to provide practical hands-on help for breast cancer patients and their families here in Central Florida. At the time, no other local organization was doing that.
Our first outreach was that October. We provided transportation to treatment for a patient who had been taking the bus to and from chemo. After sitting with her during chemo, we bought food for her family for the weekend and drove her back home.
It didn’t take long for other patients, doctor’s offices and medical facilities to learn about the unique service we were offering. And our small grassroots organization took off.
Since 2007, we have now provided financial assistance and in-kind services to more than 200 patients. And we’ve provided information about other services, treatments and research to hundreds more.
